Marine Geophysical Survey System
Marine Geophysical Survey System
Marine geophysical survey system mainly consists of seismic sources such as air guns and sparkers that emit sound waves, streamer cables that receive the reflected waves from the strata, and onboard system such as data recording, navigation, source controller, streamer cable towing and depth control equipment. By processing the recorded reflected waves data, the geological structure below the seabed can be visualized.
Depending on the survey purpose, number of channels, length, spacing of the streamer cable and sources will be optimized. 2D geophysical survey is performed with single streamer cable, while 3D geophysical survey is performed with multiple streamer cables, towed behind the survey vessel.
Resource development and academic research
3D geophysical surveys are being conducted for hydrocarbon exploration for long time. The technology is evolving to increase resolution of subsurface structure to more accurately characterize the reservoir, minimize the environmental impact and to obtain data for much wider area. Seisgadget not only provides system and services of conventional geophysical survey equipment, but also actively developing solutions to fulfill the market requirement, such as ocean bottom seismometers for hybrid geophysical surveys, and 4D surveys to monitor changes in subsurface reservoirs over time.
Marine geophysical survey is also applied for offshore wind farm site survey. We are also extending our services to this area in addition to conventional domain of resource development and academic research. Seismic sources, streamer cable, and data recording unit are optimized for such purposes.
We, Seisgadget, are always striving to fulfill customers' requirement, including selection of system equipment components, design/manufacture, commissioning, maintenance/repair, training, operation/survey and technical support, etc. Please contact us for details.
Seismic Survey
for Offshore Wind Power
Seismic Survey for Offshore Wind Power
We also actively conduct surveys of the seafloor ground in areas where offshore wind power generation facilities are planned to be constructed. We provide one-stop support from the selection of the most appropriate equipment according to the characteristics of the sea area to design, survey, and data analysis. We utilize cutting-edge survey technologies and know-how cultivated in oil and gas development to provide highly accurate and speedy data.
We also place emphasis on safety training. In Europe, as offshore development progresses, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) activities are being implemented in offshore construction and maintenance, mainly in the oil and gas industry, and similar initiatives are being promoted in the construction of offshore wind power generation facilities.
In order to ensure safe work at sea, we require all our staff to complete survival training (BOSIET course) based on the regulations of OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization), an educational organization for oil industry workers in the UK. This is a standard in the offshore resource development industry. This ensures that our staff members who have received safety training that meets the standards of the offshore petroleum industry are in charge of surveys in offshore areas.

DUG data processing and analysis service
DUG data processing and analysis service
DUG has data processing centers in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Malaysia, possessing a total of 30 petaFLOPS large-scale supercomputers, and offers a high-performance computing service “HPCaaS” (High Performance Computing as a Service). DUG has extensive experience in data processing for marine resource development, and DUG's computational processing services are widely provided regardless of the field, in genetic engineering, climate modeling, chemistry, and astronomy.
DUG has built a unique liquid cooling system (DUG Cool) that immerses high-speed computing processing servers in dielectric fluid, realizing power consumption that is about half that of a typical data center, resulting in significant operating costs.
Geophysical exploration data is processed using DUG INSIGHT software. We provide DUG's services ranging from data processing to interpretation, and also provide software licenses so that clients can perform processing and interpretation as needed.
Ocean Bottom Seismometer OBS2G series
Ocean Bottom Seismometer
OBS2G series is ocean bottom seismometer that is designed for subsurface hydrocarbon exploration and academic purposes. Self-popup type and rope-connected type are widely utilized by clients. OBS2G series is innovative and cost-effective solution that realizes high-quality imaging of the seabed structure.
Several commercialization trials proved the data quality, and innovation is continuously being made at Seisgadget in order to apply OBS2G series to more advanced, longer duration, and large-scale requirement.
Applications that utilize the features of the OBS2G series currently include carbon capture and storage (CCS) under the seabed and monitoring of reservoirs. OBS2G-SP (Semi-Permanent) is the type for these applications and we are focusing on development to commercialize as the method to monitor reservoires with minimal operating costs.
The main feature of OBS2G-SP is the data acquisition using observation class ROV and optical communication while it is placed on the seabed for 5 years or more. Work class ROV is not needed in this duration as it is not required to recover the node and replace on the seabed, thus drastically reducing the operation cost.
